Falcon and the eastern El Paso County corridor (Meridian Ranch, Woodmen Hills, Falcon Highlands, Saddlehorn) sit at roughly 6,800 feet on the Black Forest divide, with a soils profile dominated by expansive Pierre shale clay and Niobrara formation. The Colorado Geological Survey lists the entire eastern Falcon corridor as moderate-to-high expansive soil risk.
