What's included in our stamped pour

Stamped concrete is more involved than a standard pour, done right, it lasts 25+ years; done cheaply, it fades and flakes within five. Every stamped installation we do in Colorado Springs includes:

  • Excavation, base prep, and forms the same as any pour, sloped, compacted, edge-formed.
  • 4,000 PSI air-entrained mix with integral color tinted at the truck before pour.
  • Synthetic fiber reinforcement (or rebar on slabs over 400 sq ft).
  • Color release agent broadcast across the surface for highlight and antiquing.
  • Stamping with overlapping mat patterns, hand-tooled at borders and joints.
  • Detail trowel work on grout lines and pattern transitions.
  • Sawcut control joints placed in the lowest-visibility lines of the pattern.
  • Two coats of UV-stable acrylic sealer with grit additive after 28-day cure.
  • Maintenance plan, written, dated, with resealing schedule.

Pattern options

We carry mats for the four pattern families that dominate Front Range homes:

  • Random flagstone. Irregular natural-stone look. Most popular for backyard patios.
  • Ashlar slate. Rectangular cut-stone, more formal. Common on front walkways and entries.
  • Roman / European cobble. Smaller stone units, old-world look. Great for accents and borders.
  • Wood-plank. 6-inch or 12-inch plank patterns, modern aesthetic, popular on newer Stetson Hills and Briargate builds.

We bring pattern boards to every on-site estimate so you can see and touch the texture before committing.

Color & sealing notes for Colorado

Three things our climate does to stamped concrete: bleach the color (UV), surface-spall (freeze-thaw + chlorides), and fade the sealer (dry air). We counter all three with:

  • Integral color, not surface stain. Pigment goes into the full depth of the pour so chips don't show as light spots.
  • UV-stable acrylic sealer. Generic sealers yellow and peel in 18 months at our altitude, we use a UV-rated product with a 3–5 year service life.
  • Grit additive in sealer. Brings traction up to broom-finish level so wet stamped patios are safe.
  • Re-seal every 2–3 years. The single biggest determinant of lifespan. We offer a flat-rate maintenance plan or do it as a one-off.

Why choose us for stamped concrete

17 years of stamping on the Front Range

Stamped concrete is unforgiving, you have a 90-minute window between pour and set to broadcast release, stamp every mat, and detail the joints. We've stamped over 200,000 square feet in Colorado Springs since 2008. We don't subcontract the stamping work; the same finisher who's been here 12 years runs every job.

Real pattern samples on-site at estimate

Most contractors show you photos on a phone. We bring physical pattern boards and pigment samples to every estimate. Picking the pattern in your actual sun and shade is the only way to choose right.

Written maintenance plan and reseal pricing

Stamped concrete that's never resealed lasts about 10 years and looks tired in 5. We give you a written reseal schedule on day one and a flat rate per square foot so there are no surprises later.

Stamped concrete FAQs

How much does stamped concrete cost in Colorado Springs?

Stamped concrete runs $14–$22 per square foot installed in 2025. Patterns with multiple colors, custom borders, or three-dimensional textures land at the upper end. A typical 250 sq ft stamped patio runs $3,500–$5,500.

How long does stamped concrete last in Colorado?

Properly installed and maintained stamped concrete lasts 25 to 30 years on the Front Range. The biggest factors are mix quality (4,000 PSI air-entrained minimum), proper jointing, and resealing every 2–3 years. Skipping the resealing typically cuts life in half.

Does stamped concrete get slippery when wet?

It can be more slippery than broom finish, especially with smooth stone patterns. We add a grit additive to the sealer on every stamped installation that brings traction back to broom-finish levels with no visual change.

Can stamped concrete be poured over existing concrete?

Yes, using a stamped overlay system 1/2 to 1 inch thick if the existing slab is sound. If the underlying slab is cracked, sinking, or under 3 inches thick, the overlay will inherit those problems and we recommend tearing it out instead.

What patterns are most popular here?

Ashlar slate and random flagstone are the two most popular patterns in Colorado Springs because they match the natural stone aesthetic of the Front Range. Wood-plank patterns are gaining popularity for modern homes.
